MSF Communications – International Human Resources Projects Internship in Switzerland, 2018

Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) is pleased to offer Communications Intern – International Human Resources Projects for 6 months starting on February 10, 2018. Interns must have excellent (fluent or native-level) written communication skills in English or French, with an advanced level in the other language also preferred. Spanish or Arabic would also be an asset.

The purpose of the Communications Intern position is to support the Communications Officer in the implementation of communications plans for international HR initiatives.

Specific requirements

  • Excellent (fluent or native-level) written communication skills in English or French, with an advanced level in the other language also preferred. Spanish or Arabic would also be an asset.
  • Comfortable in the use of website content management systems for content maintenance
  • Proficiency in desktop publishing tools (e.g. InDesign and Photoshop), video editing software, and presentation tools (e.g. PowerPoint)
  • Attentive to detail shows initiative and self-motivated
  • Genuine interest in supporting the work of MSF and learning about internal communication for a global humanitarian organization.

Internship Open for International Students: International students are eligible to apply for this internship programme.

Field of Internship: Communications Intern – International Human Resources Projects. The successful candidate will gain experience in many aspects of internal HR-focused communication for a large international non-governmental organization.

CERN Openlab Summer Students Internship in Switzerland, 2018

Field of Internship: Students will work on advanced IT projects.

Course Level: Internship

Internship Provider: CERN and the CERN open lab

Internship can be taken in Switzerland

Internship Application Deadline: Internship application deadline is February 19, 2018.

Is this paid internship? This is a paid internship programme:

  • An allowance of 90 CHF per day during your contractual dates
  • Travel allowance (on a lump sum basis)
  • Assistance to find accommodation on the CERN site or nearby
  • Health insurance scheme during the duration of your contract
  • 9 weeks of stay – 40h/week

Internship Description: Are you a B.Sc. or M.Sc. student (who will have completed at least three years of full-time studies at university level by next spring) in Computer Science or Mathematics, Engineering or Physics with a strong computing profile? Would you be interested in working on an advanced IT project for two full months during the summer?  If so, you should apply to the CERN openlab Summer Student Programme!

  • You must be a Bachelor or Master student in Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering or Physics (with a strong computing profile)
  • You have completed, by summer 2018, at least three years of full-time studies at university level.
  • You will remain registered as a student during your stay at CERN. If you expect to graduate during summer 2018, you are also eligible to apply.
  • You have not worked at CERN before with any other status (Technical Student, Trainee, User…) for more than 3 months and you have not been a CERN summer student in the past.
  • A good knowledge of English is mandatory; knowledge of French would be an advantage.

Field of Internship: Applicants should indicate three areas of activity within the organization in order of preference. Areas of Activity are:- Communications, Conferences, Finance, General Services, Human Resources, Information Technology, International Partnerships and Development, Legal Affairs, Research and Innovation, Specialized Crimes, Secretariat, Strategic Planning and Policy, Training, Translation and Global Complex for Innovation/Cybercrime.

An internship can be taken in France

Eligibility: All applicants must:

-Be a national of a member country,

-Have attained the legal age of majority in their country of nationality,

-Be fluent in English,

-Be enrolled in, or have graduated from, an accredited academic institution within the past six months on the date of submission of the application.

Internship Open for International Students: Internship is open for international students (INTERPOL Member Countries).

Is this paid internship? Yes, Interns are entitled to receive a monthly allowance of 550 euros (amount set for internships based in Lyon). The allowance will be adjusted to the different duty station according to the UN cost of living index.
